Yolngu Unicode is a keyboard layout designed to use with Tavultesoft Keyman 5.
The Yolngu Unicode keyboard layout is free to download and use. The keyboard layout requires the Keyman 5.0. Tavultesoft Keyman 5.0 is free for personal and educational use. For all other uses, Keyman may be used for a 30 day evaluation, and after that time, the registration cost of US$30 must be paid. Discounts are available for users in developing countries, larger orders, and other special cases. See Tavultesoft's registration page for further details, including methods of payment.
The Yolngu Unicode keyboard layout can be downloaded from http://www.openroad.net.au/languages/files/yolngu_unicode.zip. Once you have downloaded the zip file, extract the file into a temporary directory. Then start up Keyman 5 and install the keyboard layout from the Keyman configuration screen.

Windows 95/98/ME are based on older non-unicode legacy encodings. Keyman 5 will work on Windows 95/98/ME with some unicode aware programs. Windows NT4/2000 has much better Unicode support. It is important to read Tavultesoft's FAQ What applications and operating systems support Unicode?
A version of the Yolngu Unicode keyboard layout was adapted to use with SC UniPad, a Unicode text editor for the Windows NT/2000/XP and Windows 9x/ME operating systems. . SC UniPad is available for free download from http://www.unipad.org/download/index.html.

This keyboard is based on the keyboard layout used by Northern Territory University. Some of the standard keyboard keys have been reassigned to access additional characters required by Yolngu.

Alt+' means that it is necessary to press the Alt key and at the same time press the apostrophe key. Ctrl+Alt+' indicates that it is necessary to press the Control key and at the same time press the Alt key and the apostrophe key.
