Yolŋu Unicode keyboard layout
Version 2.0
The Yolŋu keyboard layout is designed to use with Tavultesoft Keyman 6.
The Yolŋu keyboard layout is free to download and use. The keyboard layout requires the Keyman 6.0. Tavultesoft Keyman 6.0 is a commercial product. See Tavultesoft's registration page for further details.
The Yolŋu keyboard layout can be downloaded from http://www.openroad.net.au/languages/files/yolngu20.zip. Once you have downloaded the zip file, extract the file into a temporary directory. Then start up Keyman 6 and install the keyboard layout from the Keyman configuration screen.

Windows 95/98/ME are based on older non-unicode legacy encodings. Keyman 6 will work on Windows 95/98/ME with some unicode aware programs. Windows NT4/2000/XP have much better Unicode support. It is important to read Tavultesoft's FAQ What applications and operating systems support Unicode?
This keyboard is based on the keyboard layout used by Northern Territory University. Some of the standard keyboard keys have been reassigned to access additional characters required by Yolngu. The Yolŋu keyboard layout uses the Right Alt and Shift- Right Alt key sequences to type additional characters.
The keyboard layout has been designed to use with Microsoft's US English keyboard.
