Windows 95/98/ME are based on older non-unicode legacy encodings. Keyman 6 will work on Windows 95/98/ME with some unicode aware programs. Windows NT4/2000/XP have much better Unicode support. It is important to read Tavultesoft's FAQ What applications and operating systems support Unicode?
The Alternative Igbo keyboard layout uses deadkey sequences to type diacritics. The diacritic keys (acute, grave and tilde) are indicated by the coloured keys. To type a letter with a diacritic, press the diacritic key, then press the desired letter, i.e. press the acute key then the letter “a”. This will give you the character “á”.
The keyboard layout has been designed to use with Microsoft's US English keyboard. The keyboard layout was derived from the standard German keyboard layout.
