Language support … Australian Aboriginal languages

Introduction

The Language support … web site is designed to be a resource for supporting a wide range of langauges in Unicode. Operating system and software developers are increasingly standardising on Unicode as the underlying character set used in their technologies. It is possible for Aboriginal languages to benefit from the increasing support for human langauges on computers and the internet.

This site will explore issues relating to the use of Unicode. Fonts and input software will be identified, and information pertaining to the design of Aboriginal language web sites, digital libraries and ebooks will be explored.

This web site is a collabrative effort, allowing people to share their knowledge and skills in order to identify information technology solutions for Aboriginal languages.

The content of the web site will grow and develop over time.
